Piotr Mazurkiewicz


Ph.D in sociology, habilitation in political science. Assistant Professor at the Institute of Political Science at the Cardinal Stefan Wyszynski University in Warsaw and at the Pontifical Faculty of Theology in Warsaw. His main area of study and scientific interest covers history of social and political ideas, State-Church relations in a democratic system, European integration, axiology and Catholic social thought. He is a member of the board of the European Society for Research in Ethics “Societas Ethica”

Publications include: Church and Democracy (2001), Europaisation of Europe (2001), co-author of Ethik und Gesetzgebung (Ethics and Legislation, 1998), Church – State Relations in Central and Eastern Europe (1999), Politische Kultur, Demokratie und christliche Werte in Europa (1999), Church Autonomy (2001), Law and Religion (2001) and (in Polish) Out of concern for culture (1996), Freedom in the truth (1997), The Church in view of the European Integration (1997).
