Carol Rittner


Carol Rittner, R.S.M.,a member of the Religious Sisters of Mercy, is Distinguished Professor of Holocaust and Genocide Studies at The Richard Stockton College of New Jersey (USA), where she has taught since 1994. Prior to that, Dr. Rittner was the Executive Director of The Elie Wiesel Foundation for Humanity in New York City. Dr. Rittner is actively involved in community development work in Northern Ireland, with Holywell Trust (Derry/Londonderry), and she also works with PRIME (Peace Research in the Middle East) in Israel and Palestine.

Publications include: She is the author, editor, or coeditor of numerous publications. The Courage to Care (New York University Press), Different Voices: Women and the Holocaust (Paragon House), The Holocaust and the Christian World (Continuum Press), ”Good News” after Auschwitz? (Mercer University Press), Beyond Hate (Holywell Trust), Pius XII and the Holocaust (University of Leicester/Continuum Press). Co-editor with John K. Roth and James D. Smith,Will Genocide Ever End? (Aegis in association with Paragon House, 2002)
