Anita Shapira


Ph. D., Tel Aviv University, 1974. Head of the Weizmann Institute on Zionist Research, Tel Aviv University, 1978-1982. Since 1985 Professor, Department of Jewish History, Tel Aviv University. Since 1996, Ruben Merenfeld Chair on the Study of Zionism, Tel Aviv University. Founder and first head of the Yitzhak Rabin Center for Israel Studies, Tel Aviv, 1996-1999.

Publications include: Berl Katznelson. A Biography of a Socialist Zionist (1984), Land and Power.
