Beate Winkler


Dr of Law, Director of the European Monitoring Centre on Racism and Xenophobia; previously staff member of German Federal Commissioner for Foreigner's Issues, developing forms of co-operation between scientists, practitioners and politicians and transferring knowledge on findings, including publications; initiation and co-ordination of broadly based campaign against xenophobia, right-wing radicalism and anti-semitism and for the promotion of open-mindedness and tolerance; initiator of "Centre for Migration Issues and Intercultural development" with the objective of building up scientific and information networks and identifying gaps in research and politics.

Publications include: Auf dem Weg in 21. Jahrhundert: Leben mit kultureller Vielfahlt. Chancen - Bedrohung - demokratisches Prinzip (1997)
