PhD, Dorot Professor of Modern Jewish and Holocaust Studies at Emory University in Atlanta where she directs the Institute for Jewish Studies. Won a libel trial in London against David Irving who sued her for calling him a Holocaust denier and right wing extremist. Historical consultant to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum; member of United States Holocaust Memorial Council; member of the Executive Committee of the Council and chairs the Museum's Education Committee; received numerous teaching awards; Honorary Doctorate from Yeshiva University.
