Thomas Lutz


Second State Examination, 1993; M.A. 1984, Philipps University. 1992–present Director, Memorial Museums Department, Topography of Terror Foundation, “Gestapo-Terrain”, Berlin, Germany. Primarily responsible for stimulating communication and initiating sustaining exchange of information among memorial museums in Germany and abroad, editing and publishing the newsletter “Gedenkstätten-Rundbrief” and organizing and running research and study seminars. Communicate and cooperate with other museums, institutions, organizations and community groups concerned with the history of Nazi crimes. Member of the German delegation to the Task Force for Holocaust Education, Remembrance and Research. Vice-Chairman of IC MEMO.

Publications include: Thomas Lutz, (Editor): Über-Lebens-Mittel, Kunst aus Konzentrationslagern und in Gedenkstätten, (Marburg 1992), Stefanie Endlich and Thomas Lutz: Gedenken und Lernen an Historischen Orten, ein Wegweiser zur Gedenkstätten für die Opfer des Nationalsozialismus in Berlin (1998).
