The topic of my speech is the perception of the holocaust in Lithuania. I shall present three aspects of this topic:

-the prehistory of the perception of the Holocaust in Lithuania (1944-1990)

-the official point of view of the independent Lithuanian state concerning the Holocaust and its evaluation;

-the public opinion on the Holocaust in which outlooks of ethnic Lithuanians and Jews evidently do not coincide.
